Tara Richardson Lead Project Developer

Tara has been a judge at various district, state, and international conferences for DECA and FBLA since 1997. She is a former Marketing & Business Teacher and DECA Advisor. Tara was and still is very passionate about teaching and education!

She started the business Custom Resources, LLC in 1997 to provide innovative and time-saving resources to marketing and business educators and is thrilled to be the developer and provider of CU.

Heather Davis Director of Sales

Heather has been with Custom Resources since 2000. She is a past DECA President and 2nd place winner at ICDC with her Public Relations project, "Giving Back is Where It's At." She has many years serving as a DECA and FBLA judge at various levels. She initiated the fundraising division at Custom Resources and has assisted DECA, FBLA, Skills USA, FCCLA, and FFA groups from coast to coast.

 

Brittany Hurt

Brittany currently is CU's course manager. She has been a member of the CU Team since 2013 and started full-time in May 2017. She was an active DECA member and tough competitor throughout her high school and collegiate career! She has been an integral part of the interactive module development for CU. Brittany is a 2017 graduate of The University of Missouri, Columbia, with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis Marketing.

Your CU Tour Guide is Vicki Hillsman, a 28 year veteran Marketing Teacher and DECA Advisor. Vicki used Competition University with her students in its earliest stages and is amazed at the continual growth and versatility of CU.  She is especially enthusiastic about how CU can be used as a curriculum and time-saving tool for the classroom teacher.

Vicki is a former Missouri Marketing Teacher of the Year, Missouri Innovation Teacher of the Year, ACTE Region III Teacher of the Year and top five finalist of the ACTE Teacher of the Year.  Vicki has witnessed the many benefits of DECA to students and is proud to have been a DECA member, a mother of two DECA members, and advisor to hundreds.

 Melissa
Melissa Faucett
Melissa comes to Competition University as a career educator, former DECA Advisor, and an entrepreneur.  She holds a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and  her concentration and passion is for Marketing, Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Management. 
"Throughout my career I have had a passion for young people and have been fortunate to serve as an Instructor, Vocational Advisor, and Adjunct Professor. Over the years I served two Missouri DECA districts as district competitive events coordinator, and also acted as a State and National facilitator with International DECA.  I feel so fortunate to still be able to serve our vocational students through my association with Competition University!"
